Site information
Privacy Policy.
A plain-language explanation of how this website handles information.
1. This website collects no personal information
This website is a static information site. It has no accounts, contact forms, newsletter signup, comments, advertising, chat widgets, or payment tools. It sets no cookies and uses no local or session storage. The language selector opens a translated homepage at its own address, such as /fr/, or uses a ?lang= value for navigation around English-only legal pages. Your language choice is not saved in cookies or browser storage. The site does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information about visitors.
2. The ZANOKA game collects nothing either
The ZANOKA game itself collects no personal information. It has no accounts, advertising, analytics, or telemetry, and it sends nothing over the internet. Your settings and saved games stay on your own device. If ZANOKA is later sold through a store such as Steam, that store may collect information under its own privacy policy when you buy, download, or play games through it.
3. What the page loads
Every image, style, and script on this website is served from the site's own files, except one small analytics script from Cloudflare, described under Hosting below. No third-party fonts, advertising, or cross-site trackers are loaded. The videos on the homepage, on the Shorts page, and in the press kit load YouTube's privacy-enhanced player (youtube-nocookie.com) only after you press play; after that, YouTube may process information under its own privacy policy. The press kit's copy buttons put text on your clipboard and nothing else.
4. Hosting
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare automatically processes basic connection information, such as your IP address, browser type, and the time of a request, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. That processing is covered by Cloudflare's own privacy policy. From it, Cloudflare shows us only overall totals, such as the number of visits and the countries they come from, which we use to see how many people visit the site. This website also uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-focused service, to count visits. When a page loads, a small Cloudflare script reports basic page-view information, such as the page visited, the referring website, the browser and device type, the approximate country, and how quickly the page loaded. It uses no cookies or browser storage, does not follow you across other websites, and shows us only overall totals. Visitors from the European Union are not measured. We never try to identify visitors, and we do not sell or share this information. You can block this script with a content blocker or by turning off JavaScript, and the site works the same. Cloudflare handles this data under its own privacy policy and may process it outside Canada, including in the United States.
5. Links to other websites
This site links to Kickstarter, Steam, YouTube, Instagram, and email. Nothing is sent to those services when you load this page, and links open without passing along this website's address. When you follow a link you leave this website, and the destination may collect information under its own policies.
6. If you email us
The press, business, partnership, and artwork-request links open your own email app; this website never sees or stores your message. If you email zanokagamedev@gmail.com, your name, email address, and message are used only to reply to you. They are never sold or shared, and they are deleted when no longer needed. Email is delivered through Google's Gmail, under Google's own privacy policy, and may be stored and processed outside Canada, including in the United States. Please do not send sensitive personal information by email.
7. Your privacy rights
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, such as an email you sent us, ask us to correct or delete it, or raise a privacy concern by emailing zanokagamedev@gmail.com. You can also contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Children
Neither the website nor the game collects personal information from anyone, including children. The website is not directed at children under 13. If a parent or guardian believes a child has emailed us, contact us and we will delete the message.
9. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always posted on this page with its date.
